FAQ's 4.23.10
WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
Hopefully the images speak for itself! I like to call it CREATIVE, FRESH, VIBRANT, FASHION documentary
editorial style with a touch of FINE ART. My goal is to provide a good illustration of your day and relationships with minimal posing. I want to capture images that will expose the love you have for each other. The experience should be flowing, relaxed and energetic. I don't think I should be limited to a specific style. Your wedding will be covered in a very photojournalistic way. My coverage is unobtrusive and though I would never even think stopping you to say "cheese while you are cutting the cake, I would like to get some time with you two ( preferably 45m ) without wedding party and guests looking on.

FILM OR DIGITAL?
For me film has some beautiful advantages in certain circumstances but then digital allows me to be
creative in a different way. So my choice is using both as I can’t compromise ad neither should you. Don’t worry all film is scanned and also posted online as the digital files. You get the best of both worlds! Film negatives are still the time tested way to have lasting negatives/images.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU BOOK?
This is a great question! Typically I book about 9 to 15 months in advance. There is always some more popular dates and of course once you secure your date and location make sure to call or shoot me an e-mail to check availability.

HOW MANY PICTURES WILL YOU TAKE?
There is no minimum or maximum preset. It really depends on the events, the size of wedding party,
guests, details… No two weddings are the same but from experience you get more than 100
images an hour of coverage.

AM I STUCK INTO A PACKAGE?
Of course not! just let me know what is important to you and we can customize to your needs. Any item can be purchased a la carte just ask!

DO YOU STILL TAKE FAMILY PHOTOS?
although I would like to be able to get your family in a more candid , relaxed way. I put some time aside to shoot the formals so to speak. It is an important part of your family history. This process should be easy, fast and not drawn out, for this about 10- 12 combos will be captured.

WHAT CAMERAS DO YOU USE?
I come to a wedding with at least 5 cameras and a wide range of sharp lenses at least 8. My brand of
choice is NIKON, but I also like to “experiment” with a few specialty film cameras for different looks.

I LIVE OUT OF TOWN AND CAN'T MEET YOU IN ADVANCE. IS THIS OK?
We can still get to know each other and I have tons of examples of my work online. It is more the norm so not to worry. I usually get to officially " meet" my clients a few months after we sign a contract.

TRAVEL?
Definitely! There’s nothing or almost nothing more exciting then shooting in different, urban or
exotic outdoor surroundings. Travel charges are discussed on an individual bases. There is no travel
charges for the North Tahoe area.

HOW DO WE HIRE YOU?
We together decide on the best offering, options.. We then sign a contract and the retainer to
secure your date is 50% of the package amount. Due to the demand of my services I can’t hold your date unless I have both items in hand.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
I have shot over 380 weddings and have been in business for myself since 2000

ARE YOU INSURED?
yes

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR OFF SEASON EVENTS?
occasionally discounts are available but are based on time of year, day of the week and availability. if you have concerns about your budgetary needs, please contact the studio and let us know so we can look at options.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU DURING THE RECEPTION?
I would love to! so I don't lose any steam :) We prefer to be fed when YOU are fed, not afterwards, because when you are eating you're not at your most photogenic and when you're done, we want to be done as well to continue your coverage.

perfect wedding timeline 4.22.10
When the subject of the timeline comes up, I explain that the best use of your photographer’s time is to get all portraits finished before the ceremony if possible. This allows us to have extra time after the ceremony to finish up if we miss anything or if anyone is running really late. Which happens! but not to worry. This way allows you to join the cocktail hour and mingle with your guests. I can get so many more real candids and see who is really important to you.enjoy the appetizers along with your guests!

The other great benefit to having fewer portraits to shoot after the ceremony is that we then have the opportunity to not only document the cocktail hour, but to get into the empty reception space before the guests go in and put their purses, drinks etc.. on the tables and shoot all the details that you spent the last year or so putting together . I love shooting the details! the more the better. love the special touches.

I also explain to my clients that if we do part of their photos together before the ceremony and part afterward, we will get the chance to have different light, different emotions and just some variety! Plus, a lot of times the couple can get very emotional when they first see each other. It can alleviate the tension and expectations of the day.
Having a first look moment allows them a higher degree of privacy for that emotion. All eyes are not on the groom to see if he will lose it! I know my couples hire me because they like the kind of images I can produce. I feel like its just as much a part of my job to educate you about what is and isn’t possible on a wedding day as it is to produce great images for you.

12:00 I arrive, get details, bustling...
1:00 gown goes on
1:30-2:00 first look and you two
2:00-2:30 bridal party
2:30- 3:00 immediate family
3:00 prepare for ceremony
3:30- 4:00 ceremony
4:15-4:30 other groupings if so inclined

so of course this is just a possible outline, it can vary depending on the size of wedding party, family etc.... the smaller the faster it will be. It's moving people around that takes more time.
So all this we can establish what works for you together, this way we are on the same page.
Of course if the light is just so right during the reception I might ask to take you away for 5 minutes... more relaxed, more natural might be your favorite images:)
I just love to keep it moving, this is just a suggestion and telling you what is optimal to get it all.
