here's to another beautiful weekend in the mountains! Tahoe at it's best! My son was ski racing Super G at Northstar all weekend. Those events are nail biters! fast! |
my son, always kidding around:) |
I am finally sharing some images from this summer. Actually this wedding was in September. Love the light at that time of year, more flattering, less harsh.... I was very much looking forward to capturing this big Greek wedding as Sary called it. Many guests who were mostly family 300 of them. The bride and groom were mostly interested in getting family , fun, events images. I get it all, love it!
These two were a joy to capture and am wishing them all the best in their life together xo
location:: the Hyatt in Incline Village, NV
shoes:: some Gold Stuart Weitzman sandals |
there was lots of bustling during getting ready, these images just a few from black and white film. Yes I shoot film! |
the bride did not want pictures of them two much and not make a big deal of the first look. I still think they were both nervous:) in a good way! |
more black and white film images |
the very quick step on beach and step out time we had. What was important to them was family and friends. 300 of their closest family! |
kids make everything cuter! all cousins |
it truly was a family affair and the parents looked as happy as the couple coming out of ceremony. |
on their way to cocktail hour on lawn. natural moment |
busy weekend at the Hyatt. Sometimes you can't open the lens the way you would want specially when the couple gives you about 2 minutes to capture portraits but I thought this lady was funny! some people just don't get it and I won't start telling her to get a move on!!!! at least she was not in her bikini! |
lovely couple on the Hyatt pier |
there was lots of toasting by family! |
fun when lots of guests, 300 of them! at least it's a big party! |
As I said this year I had the pleasure of hiring some second shooters to help me capture weddings but I also did a lot of second shooting with some wonderful ladies:) These images were captured at a location I had not been to in years in south shore . Valhalla Tahoe. I always love historical sites and for some reason out here it is far and in between. I was working for Jaime at Rose Street Studio Jaime that day and just loved her wedding clients.
location:: Valhalla Tahoe |
For families visiting Tahoe, having a photo session is one activity that can be fun! Best backgrounds! immortalize these moments!!
It was a little cold for this session, sometimes best to stay in the trees. |

I tried something a little different this year. I usually hire second shooters for most of my bigger weddings but this summer I turned the tables when I was not booked for the day and worked for a few local or non local photographers. It was fantastic to not have to be the boss for the day and not have the 60 hours plus of editing after the wedding. I LOVE shooting weddings so if I was not booked on a saturday or friday night, I could still capture people in Love, in the best surroundings Tahoe has to offer. Have camera will work right?
I am super familiar with this venue, The West Shore Cafe . i have captured many weddings there through the years. Awesome location! on this wedding I second shot for Carmen Salazar, a photographer based out of Sacramento. It's always fun to see how we all do things a little differently. I really liked her and safe to say her clients were adorable and were having a great time! |
